The weeks and days before the big day

So we start talking about this trip some time around October. Nick can't sleep at night and spends his evenings polishing his sleds. It never fails two weeks before we go the snow in Eagle River seems to melt. This year I spent many hours on the phone planning our trip not only to have to do it twice. So we had a back up plan to travel to Brainerd, MN. The people at the quarter deck resort were great to work with. For the most part I was hoping that it woild snow as i really wanted to go to WI. I got my wish! Thanks to mother nature 10 days before our departure she decided to snow everyday. They had days were there was 6 plus inches and others with 3 or 4. So I continue to call the bars and resorts up there to get a daily update. Wow, how stressful this can be.

As we prepare to leave on the 19th we have two new sledders going this year (Todd and Jimbo) Don't really think they have digested it yet as to how much fun this will be. Let's wish them the best. They are BORROWING snowmobiles from Nick and myself. Pray the trees stay out of the way lol. So as we wind down for our departure there is a lot yet to be done, items need loaded, work needs to be completed bags need packed and sleds need loaded on the trailer and the groceries need bought. (Thanks Nick)

So looking ahead at the weather they are calling for very cold nights lows around -16 brrrr and highs in the daytime around 10. I hope Todd and Jim pack accordingly. As Nick would say one day and a wake up!

We will be staying at the Tree House Villages in the Lake Forrest Resort, it's a house (kinda sorta). It sleeps six adults and somehow me and Nick have to shack it up in the say bed. ( yes we are comfortable with our sexuality). Nick please when you wake up keep your back to mine lol
